What is Microtonal Alchemist?
Simply put, it’s a custom built FM synthesizer designed for keyboards compatible with MIDI to USB connections.
The aim is to make playing microtonal music as accessible as possible through reusing common hardware (reducing cost) and having intuitive prebuilt tunings & mappings available at the click of a button (reducing complexity).
On top of that, Microtonal Alchemist is designed to enable dynamic retuning of a keyboard with foot pedals (all sorts of custom triggers can be setup too). This is made to be used in real-time for live playing.
Dynamic retuning is more for advanced users, but with this you can have just about any tuning system setup in a functional way on keyboards designed for 12edo.
Only Windows platforms will be supported at first, but tablet support is being considered for future development.
